Dutch industry produced more in October than in the same month last year. Average daily production was 3.3% higher, according to data from Statistics Netherlands on Friday. The growth is lower than in the last year and a half.

Half of all industrial classes produced more in October than in the same month a year earlier. Of the larger branches, the mechanical engineering industry once again recorded the strongest growth. Production in the transport equipment sector has also grown significantly. In October last year, this industry was mainly affected by the shortage of chips.

The mood among manufacturing entrepreneurs eased slightly in November. Compared to a month earlier, they were mainly more positive about the expected activity.

In Germany, an important sales market for Dutch industry, business confidence in the sector has also improved. This was because they were less negative about future business conditions.
