The “Wheel of Vision” will most likely be allowed to stand on Burgplatz – for the time being until the end of the Easter holidays.
Although the Ferris wheel cannot be opened due to the current Corona measures, operator Oscar Bruch hopes for the next few months. The Christmas booths next to the Ferris wheel will be dismantled from Monday. The fact that the “Wheel of Vision” can stay there longer is particularly important for his employees:
“We don’t have any prospects yet, we don’t know what to do next. Some events were canceled again by June. With the Ferris wheel, we at least have the option of employing employees alternately. “
The Ferris wheel is currently illuminated in red light every evening – as a sign of the “Red Alert” initiative, which draws attention to the problems of the event industry during Corona. According to information from the RP, the final decision on how long the Ferris wheel should stand on Burgplatz should be made next week.
