From Thursday, the Düsseldorf Art Palace will be the first German museum to show the more than 100-year history of electronic music and its connections to art. A highlight is the staging of the entire Kraftwerk plant – after all, the electrical pioneers come from the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.
On this occasion, Kraftwerk can also be experienced in public spaces. To celebrate the start, the light artist Klaus Gendrung and Kraftwerk will be staging the sound hall with a spectacular music and light installation from Wednesday. She deals with songs by the group – especially the “Trans-Europa Express”.

Gendrung has, so to speak, power plant experience. He has known the members for a long time and is the artist behind the Rheinkometen, the light installation on the roof of the Rheinturm. Among other things, it shone in 2017 on that Saturday evening when the Tour de France made a guest appearance in Düsseldorf and Kraftwerk played an open-air concert in the Ehrenhof on the occasion.

The installation will be on view daily from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It is 15 minutes long and is repeated after a break. The best location for spectators is the courtyard of the courtyard in front of the NRW Forum. The music is played there. The installation will run until December 18th. It is made possible by the Tonhalle Düsseldorf and a group of top-class Düsseldorf companies, according to a press release.
