During the air show, airspace restrictions were set in Riga

In order to ensure aviation safety, the CAA has established a restricted flight zone “Spilve” for the organization and conduct of the aviation show in Riga.

The airspace is limited to an altitude of 5,000 feet (1,524 meters). The restriction includes the entire city center of Riga, stretching from Bolderāja to Lucavsala and from Babīte district to Spilve to Ķīšezers on the other side of the city.

The restriction prohibits the use of airspace by aircraft not involved in the inspection, the corresponding flights are also prohibited by unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

Flights in restricted airspace are also prohibited for remote pilots who have received long-term high-risk permits issued by the CAA.

The temporary airspace restriction is issued so that civil aviation and other non-participating aircraft do not enter the aviation demonstration area, but pilots of unmanned aircraft do not endanger flight safety.
