AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL – The last debate before the election of November 3, 2020 opened this Thursday, October 22 on the heavy file of the coronavirus.
Donald Trump and Joe Biden clashed, in an Olympian calm compared to their first televised clash, sure the management of Covid-19, the first promising the reopening of the country and the schools, the second imploring a compulsory wearing of the mask on all the territory and judging that “someone who is responsible for so many deaths should not be able to remain president”.
While Trump promised a vaccine “in the coming weeks” despite warnings from scientists not expecting a mass vaccination before the summer of 2021, the president regretted that some states were shutting themselves up while waiting to protect from virus, including New York.
The American city has finally continued to impose very strict rules since March, including the wearing of masks, social distancing and the closure of numerous interior spaces (restaurants, bars, cinemas, theaters, etc.). A policy that has allowed the number of coronavirus infections to drop sharply, but which has made New York “a ghost town” according to Trump.
A comment that seriously annoyed New Yorkers on social networks. Many personalities, including the mayor, and anonymous people who live in the economic capital of the country immediately denied this judgment, often with humor, as you can see below.
