As energy costs rise, continuing to produce under these conditions is no longer profitable. And when Duralex worries, the whole town of Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin (Loiret) shakes. With its 250 employees, the company supports the local economy. “It runs small shops like us. So that’s an advantage,” says one shopkeeper.
