Just days after the Wanda Diamond League stop in Oslo, the world’s elite athletes are converging on Stockholm for the Bauhaus Galan this Sunday, June 15, 2025. Seven individual gold medalists from the Paris 2024 Olympics, including stars who competed in Oslo, will be the main attraction in the Swedish capital. The highly anticipated 400m hurdles clash between Olympic medalists Karsten Warholm,Rai Benjamin,and Alison dos Santos takes center stage.

400m Hurdles Showdown: A Clash of Titans

Warholm, Benjamin, and Dos Santos have dominated the 400m hurdles in recent years, collectively securing the last six global titles and achieving 18 of the fastest times ever recorded.Their upcoming race marks the first time they’ve faced off in the 400m hurdles since the Paris Olympics, where they swept the podium. They recently competed in the 300m hurdles in Oslo, with Warholm setting a world best of 32.67 seconds, followed by Benjamin and dos Santos.

Warholm, the world record holder and a three-time world champion, leads the 400m hurdles world rankings with his 47.28-second run at the diamond League meet in keqiao last month. Benjamin, the Paris gold medalist, stumbled on the final hurdle in Oslo but still managed a US record of 33.22 seconds. Dos Santos, the 2022 world champion, holds the Stockholm meeting record of 46.80 seconds and remains undefeated in the 400m hurdles this year, with victories in Kingston, Miami, and Philadelphia.

Rematch in the 800m and Other Key Events

The men’s 800m promises another thrilling rematch, featuring four of the top six finishers from the Paris final and five of the top six from Oslo. Emmanuel Wanyonyi, fresh off victories in both races, enters as the favorite with a season’s best of 1:42.78. Djamel Sedjati of algeria, who finished third in both Paris and Oslo, returns to Stockholm, where he won last year in 1:43.23. The field also includes European champion Gabriel Tual, two-time Commonwealth champion Wyclife Kinyamal, and Americans Josh Hoey and Bryce Hoppel, recent world indoor champions.

In the women’s 800m, world indoor champion Prudence Sekgodiso will compete against world champion Mary Moraa, Audrey Werro, who recently set a Swiss record of 1:57.25, and olympic 1500m bronze medalist Georgia Hunter Bell.

Three additional Olympic champions will be featured in the field events. Olympic long jump champion Tara Davis-Woodhall makes her 2025 Diamond League debut against world champion Ivana Spanovic, two-time world champion Malaika Mihambo, world indoor champion Claire Bryant, European indoor champion Larissa Iapichino, world indoor silver medalist Annik Kalin, and Olympic bronze medalist Jasmine Moore. The women’s high jump will see a clash of Olympic medalists, with Yaroslava Mahuchikh facing world indoor champion Nicola Olyslagers and 2022 world champion Eleanor Patterson.

Olympic discus champion Roje Stona will participate in his second diamond League meeting, facing 2022 world champion Kristjan Ceh, who recently threw beyond 72 meters in three different cities within a week. Two-time world champion Daniel Stahl and Olympic bronze medalist Matt Denny add further depth to the field.

Femke Bol Returns to Stockholm

World champion Femke Bol returns to Stockholm, the site of her first Diamond League victory in 2020. Since then, the Dutch 400m hurdler has achieved 37 consecutive victories in invitational races, including 25 in the Diamond League. Bol has won in Stockholm four times and holds the meeting record of 52.27 seconds, set in 2022. This year, she has already won in rabat (52.46) and hengelo (52.51) and will aim for a sub-53-second performance on Sunday. Her competitors include 2016 Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad, Panama’s Gianna Woodruff, and world-leading heptathlete Anna Hall.

Following their exciting finish in Oslo,Isabella Whittaker of the USA and Henriette Jaeger of Norway will compete again in the 400m flat. Whittaker won in Oslo, with both athletes setting outdoor personal bests (49.58 and 49.62 seconds, respectively). World indoor champion Amber Anning, Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke, and Lieke Klaver of the Netherlands, who finished third, fourth, and fifth in Oslo, are also in the lineup.

Ackera Nugent, the world’s fastest woman last year, will compete in the 100m hurdles against former world record holder Kendra Harrison, two-time world indoor champion Devynne charlton, and Grace Stark of the USA.

Reynier Mena of Cuba, who won the 200m in Oslo ahead of Andre de Grasse of Canada and Joseph Fahnbulleh of Liberia, will attempt to repeat his success in Stockholm.

Kuma Girma, who achieved a personal best of 12:46.41 in Oslo, will face Andreas Almgren in the men’s 5000m. The women’s pole vault features Sandi Morris, Angelica Moser, and Tina Sutej.
