Participants of the Ķekava bicycle ride, depending on their age and sports training, have the opportunity to participate in one of the three disciplines on August 8.
Every supporter of an active lifestyle is invited to participate in the most popular of the distances – the 45 km (km) long bird factory “Ķekava” folk distance “Strong stilbiņi”, similar to the sports distance, measuring the road from Ķekava to Daugmala and Baldoni, finishing in Ķekava. The fastest three participants in the women’s and men’s group will receive gifts provided by the supporters of the cycling trip.
In turn, lovers of active leisure, especially sports families, will be offered a special “Ķekavas avots” family distance “, where every fan of active lifestyle will be able to enjoy a seven-kilometer cycling adventure around Ķekava, participate in a lottery and receive prizes.
Just like last year, this year in Ķekava cycling will be thought of the youngest who will be able to start in the “Hercules children’s distance” and receive prizes.
In parallel with the cycling competition, various activities will take place free of charge throughout the day for both adults and young visitors.
Kekava bike ride will take place on August 8 from 9 am to 5 pm.
It has already been reported that this week an outbreak of Covid-19 was detected at Murjani Sports Gymnasium.
On Thursday, Yuri Perevoshchikov, director of the Infectious Diseases Risk Analysis and Prevention Department at the SPKC, said that several hypotheses had been put forward about how Murjani Sports Gymnasium students and coach might be infected with Covid-19, but none of the versions has been confirmed yet.
According to the epidemiologist, one version is that athletes are infected in Lithuania. However, the possibility cannot be ruled out that the infection occurred after returning from a neighboring country, when one of the students contacted the infected person at home. At the same time, a version has been put forward that the infection took place in one of the competitions in Latvia, said the epidemiologist.
