With the relaxation of the Corona restrictions in Schleswig-Holstein, cruises will also be possible again. The shipping companies AIDA and TUI want to offer trips from Kiel on the Whitsun weekend.
The AIDAsol, the first cruise ship in months, leaves Kiel’s Baltic Sea port on a short trip on May 22nd. One day later, a ship from the TUI Cruises “Mein Schiff” fleet starts. A negative corona test is required for travel. Strict hygiene regulations apply on board the ships.

The safety and hygiene concept is in place
According to its own statements, the seaport of Kiel is already prepared for the cruise lines. The safety and hygiene concepts for the handling of guests and luggage have already been coordinated with the authorities and shipping companies, according to a spokesman.
MSC is also planning to restart
Other shipping companies are also planning to restart their cruise offers from Kiel. According to the port of Kiel, a visit to a ship from the MSC fleet on June 19 has been specifically agreed. The spokesman for the seaport did not want to say whether this date will be brought forward and whether more ships will come to Kiel in May.
