A 57-year-old driver in Käfertal caused a rear-end collision with an ambulance with an alcohol level of 2.4 per mille in his blood. According to police reports, he drove his Ford from the parking lot of a supermarket to the right onto the street “Auf dem Sand” at around 12:45 pm on Tuesday. He overlooked the ambulance that was heading towards Waldstrasse and crashed into it. Nobody was injured; the police estimate the property damage at around 10,000 euros. Because the officials noticed a clear smell of alcohol in the 57-year-old’s breath, he had to take an alcohol test, and he is now being investigated for being a traffic hazard.
