An Audi driver was seriously injured in an accident on Sunday morning in the Lauenhain district of Crimmitschau. As the police confirmed, he came off the road at around 11 a.m. on the street Am Wetterkreuz at the level of the entrance to the town and hit a tree head-on. An emergency doctor was flown in with a rescue helicopter. According to the police, alcohol was involved: the man had 2.4 per mille in his blood. Fire fighters secured the scene of the accident and tied up leaking equipment. The street had to be completely closed for an hour. The police are investigating how the accident happened.
