Employees gave precious “lifeblood”

District of Lippe – On the initiative of Diana Battefeld, employee and representative for severely disabled people at the job center Lippe, a blood donation campaign was carried out for the employees of the job center Lippe for the second time this year Lippe in Detmold, in which the district administration, the district also participated the police authority and the employment agency.

Before donating blood in the Blood Donation Service West truck trailer, participants were briefed by a physician about the “risks and side effects.” Employees of the DRK blood donation team were delighted with 34 donors, including four first-time donors. A total of 26 units of blood may be drawn. As a “donor reward” they then received a small bag of goodies from the DRK as a thank you. On the occasion of the feast of St. Nicholas, the board of directors of the job center also gave donors a recipe book as well as a chocolate Santa Claus.

The director of the job center Stefan Susat also sat down on one of the couches to donate blood. “Blood donation is very important right now. It’s good to know you’re doing your part to save lives again,” said Susat.

In principle, any healthy person between the ages of 18 and 70 can donate blood. The age limit for first-time donors is 65. There must be an interval of at least eight weeks between two blood donations.
