Dresden project Fabmobil awarded with Kulturlichter-Preis

About the Fabmobil project

If people cannot get to the offers – because buses no longer run – the offers have to go to the people. This has been done by Fabmobil, the mobile art and digital workshop for rural areas, since 2017, from Constitute eV Fabmobil comes directly to schools or socio-cultural youth centers and enables workshops and courses there.

The converted double-decker bus is a mobile technology workshop and a mobile art, culture and future laboratory at the same time. Fabmobil conveys the basic understanding of digital technologies. The bus is z. E.g. equipped with 3D printers, microelectronics, robotics, machine tools, you can program synthesizers, play with VPR cameras – in short: schoolchildren can try out computer-controlled high-tech devices and receive support. In some places this worked so well that so-called makerspaces have been formed in which students guide other students.

We are like a black black box, a surprise box, and as soon as you open it, everything shines and sparkles.

Another Kulturlichter Award for Saxony

The audience award goes to ASA-FF eV – Network for Culture and Youth Work in Chemnitz for the project “Hiking day in space”. Behind it is a digital interactive live theater piece that was created during the first lockdown. The creators fly with students to the space station ISS and from there discover the earth with a scientist and an alien.

The Federal Prize goes to the “Learning Platform for Jewish Places” from the Jewish Museum Berlin. It is awarded by Minister of State Monika Grütters and is endowed with € 20,000.
