Jurgen Streppel’s Roda JC adventure could not have started better. The South Limburgers opened the season with a 0-4 victory at Young Ajax and also won over TOP Oss on Saturday: ten raging minutes in the first half were enough for a 3-0 victory.

Roda started with goalkeeper Youri Roulaux and left back Amir Absalem, who was brought in midweek, with tropical surprise Mateo Sebastián Aramburu in the lead among the guests. After pinpricks from both sides, the game was broken open after half an hour: right back Stefano Marzo was the celebrated man. The hosts then got up to speed and were 3-0 before the break: Roland Alberg and Jordy Croux increased the score.
Roda seemed to want to increase the margin further in the second half, but the match eventually bled to death. Streppel and his team close the Kitchen Champion Division Saturday as number two: for the time being only Cambuur is on goal difference above Roda.
MVV – Cambuur 1-7
The match started at 7 p.m., but the Cambuur players were already on the bus to Limburg at 8.30 a.m. Trainer Henk de Jong left nothing to chance and wanted optimal preparation for the match. That worked, because Cambuur was too strong for MVV from the first minute, which was hardly involved in-house.

It took a while before the first goal was scored, but then it went fast. Robin Maulun opened the score after nineteen minutes and after that Mees Hoedemakers and Robert Mühren (2x) were also accurate. As a result, it was already 0-4 for Cambuur before half-time. Via a used penalty from Joeri Schroijen, MVV did something back before the break.
The little confidence that MVV had gained through the goal from Schroijen was soon lost. Jamie Jacobs made 1-5 shortly after half time and it threatened to become a real punishment when Jarchinio Antonia also pulled the trigger twice. With fifteen minutes to go, the double figures were achievable, but Cambuur took his foot off the accelerator.

FC Eindhoven – Telstar 2-3
Telstar won its first game in the Kitchen Champion Division on Saturday. Andries Jonker’s team was behind FC Eindhoven, but turned it around and took the win: 2-3. Ilias Bronkhorst was again important to Telstar.
Bronkhorst scored twice against FC Volendam (2-2) last week and was also accurate against Eindhoven. At Telstar, assistant coach Edgar Davids was on the bench for the first time and there was also another first: Shona Shukrula was the first female fourth official ever in professional football.
Eindhoven got the first big chance of the match, but Telstar was the first to pull the trigger. Bronkhorst did this on behalf of the club from Velsen-Zuid. In the second half, Eindhoven came back into the game. Goudhaantje Kaj de Rooij, for whom there is much to do, served Hugo Botermans for less than a minute and he quickly equalized. De Rooij then shot himself into the 2-1 and further increased his market value.
Telstar did not give up and showed resilience. Jonker’s team came to 2-2 after more than an hour through Shayne Pattynama. The same Pattyname determined the final score a few minutes later at 2-3.
