Drawing phase group Menpora Cup 2021 was held at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (8/3/2021), evening, WIB. Group B in Malang is the hell group.
The 18 Shopee League 1 participants were divided into four groups. Groups A and C are filled with five clubs. Groups B and D consist of five clubs.
Groups B and C are included in the category of group hell. Persija Jakarta those who had already entered Group B got a share against Bhayangkara Solo FC, Borneo FC, and PSM Makassar.
While Group C is filled by the majority of clubs from East Java. There is Persebaya Surabaya, Persik Kediri, Persela Lamongan, PSS Sleman, and Madura United.
“Once again the concern is the health protocol. Hopefully the presentation in the 2021 Menpora Cup can be a trigger for the community to comply with the health protocol,” said Chairman of the 2021 Menpora Cup Organizing Committee (OC), Akhmad Hadian Lukita.
Kick off Menpora Cup the plan will be held at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, on March 21. But it hasn’t been decided which club will play the opening match.
“For about 35 days, the public will pay attention to us. We believe the 2021 Menpora Cup tournament has a major impact on the continuity of the League 1 competition 2021-2022,” said Lukita.
