Drammens Tidende – Penalty kick saved points for the estate

DRAMMEN: After opening brightly in this year’s elite series, there was little to shout about in the rainy weather on Marienlyst on Sunday night. Opposition team Aalesund was initially weaker on paper, but showed no mercy to the hosts, who had anything but a peak day. For a long time it seemed that the Goods were going to lose out of the match, but a penalty just before the end made SIF bring a point.

After a couple of half-hearted attempts from the guests, the home side came to the first chance after 12 minutes. Captain Mikkel Maigaard came alone with Aalesund’s keeper and everything seemed to be the Danish goal for the first goal of the match. Aafk’s Andreas Lie blocked the chance and the score remained 0-0.

Initially, Godset is a stronger team than Aalesund. The Orange-clad had only one poor point before Sunday’s game and have lost two of three matches in the first three rounds. SIF, for its part, entered the game with seven points. However, the first twenty minutes of Sunday’s home game did not show that SIF initially played against a weaker team.

The home team, however, played more and more into the game and eventually pushed high against the newly promoted team. After 25 minutes of play, it was apparently only a matter of time before Godets would put the ball into the net.

1–0

However, the hosts would not succeed in the first part of Sunday’s match. After the estate had had a tiny takeover over a short period of time, surprisingly enough the guests joined the management after a short half hour. Sigurd Haugen put the ball in a goal for Aalesund.

Just eight minutes later, the home team was very close to equalizing. Kristoffer Tokstad found Johan Hove inside the box, who tried to shoot. However, it was blocked by the away team’s last chance.

The first lap was well below par for the home team, which had so far had a solid start to this year’s elite series.

The break was 0-1 to AaFK in the match played in gray weather at Marienlyst Stadium.

2nd round

The goods made a change during the break. Ari Leifsson, who did no canon performance in the first place was replaced with Herman Stengel.

The visitors were given a free kick four minutes into the second half. It was also the first chance of the game. Myhra boxed the ball out of the box and made sure the Navy Blue could still fight for equalization.

The goods made their second change after just over an hour. Out went junior Sondre Fosnæs Hansen and entered Janis Ikaunieks. The former made their elite series debut against Sarpsborg 08 earlier this week.

Despite the two swaps the home team had made so far in the match, the level did not lift anything noteworthy from first to second innings for the Navy Blue. It was simply not the whole world to shout cheers for grass on Marienlyst.

It should be said that the Gods played without any of their strongest cards on Sunday. Among other things, both Lars Vilsvik and Jonathan Parr saw the mat from the stands. Both are out with injuries. The injury situation did that and Ipalibo Jack went from playing midfield to defense in the second half.

Ten minutes before the break Marcus Mølvadgaard came in for Kristoffer Tokstad.

In the 89th minute, Godset was finally able to cheer at home. The Blue are penalized and Maigaard confidently put the ball in the right corner. Very lucky for the hosts, who seemed to be heading towards their first loss of the year series.

Just after the cheer had subsided on Marienlyst, SIF made a switch. Tobias Fjeld Gulliksen made his elite series debut. Niklas Gunnarsson was the replacement.

Five minutes into overtime, Ipalibo Jack wore a red card. The 22-year-old thus has to face the next match.

The match ended 1-1 and Strømsgodset took one point from the fourth round.
