Drama Richarlison vs Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur

London

Drama occurred internally Tottenham Hotspur. Richarlison was openly critical of the manager Antonio Conte who often propose it.

Richarlison’s frustration finally overflowed after Tottenham were eliminated by AC Milan from the Champions League. In the second leg in London, Thursday (9/3) early morning WIB, the 0-0 draw made The Lilywhites carry their bags.

In that match, Richarlison himself appeared from the bench. He just played in the 70th minute.

Apparently, Richarlison was annoyed that Conte always backed him up. This season, Richarlison has played 25 times, and has come off the bench 13 times.

In a post-fight interview, Richarlison said, “He [Antonio Conte] doesn’t explain anything. Let’s see what he has to say tomorrow. You don’t have idiots here, I’m a professional, I work every day and I want to play. I need more minutes,” he said, reported by the Daily Mail.

Richarlison was recruited by Tottenham Hotspur from Everton for £60 million or IDR 1.1 trillion (including bonuses) last summer. Performance so far is still less promising.

He just made 2 goals and 3 assists for Tottenham. The two goals were obtained in the Champions League, and still scored zero in the Premier League. He is still unable to compete with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane on the front lines.

Regarding his criticism of Conte, Richarlison actually came under fire. Former Aston Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, satirized the Brazilian player back.

“Richarlison, £60 million. Premier League goals, zero. Assists, only two. After all the whining, the rolling around on the pitch, then he comes off and says he had a ‘positive moment and Conte put me on the bench’, ” he quipped, in the talkSport program.

“The positive moment is two games, zero goals. I don’t understand anymore,” Agbonlahor said of Richarlison’s protests.
