Since the pandemic began, we have heard on more than one occasion that different television programs from different television networks have had to isolate themselves from suspected cases of Covid-19. Once again all the “Despierta América” team is isolated after one of the drivers tested positive for Coronavirus.
Although the rest of the team has not presented symptoms so far, they decided that everyone would stay home to protect everyone until they obtained negative results from their swabs.
“As soon as our results are negative we will be back in our studies”said Karla Martínez, one of the drivers.
“Wake up America” adapts again
Having all the conductors isolated, both the production of “Wake up America“As the directors of Univision, they decided that the program would be carried out again as at the beginning of the pandemic: from the home of each of the team members.
It is for this reason that this week the drivers could be seen from their respective homes with the screen divided into four parts.
“That’s right, as Karlita told it, indeed Univision takes care of us, we respect all the protocols and that is why the doors of our house open again and we will do the program from here today with the love, the commitment that we always have with you”, Raúl González said.
For her part, Francisa Rodríguez expressed herself through her official Instagram account saying through a video: “Today we are again live from our houses, we are taking all precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus, there is a very large outbreak right now with Ómicron.”
“So here we are from a little house with the best energy, with the batteries well placed as I said this morning to bring you all the information you need to start your day with your foot.”
What is there to know about the Omicron variant?
According to recent research by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Omicron variant is likely more easily spread than the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The CDC stipulates that anyone with Omicron infection can pass the virus to other people, even if they are vaccinated or have no symptoms.
More data is needed to know if Omicron infections, and especially reinfections and progressive infections in people who are fully vaccinated, cause more serious illness or even death.
Current vaccines are expected to protect against serious illness, hospitalizations, and deaths due to infection with the Omicron variant. However, breakthrough infections are likely to occur in people who are fully vaccinated. With other variants, such as Delta, vaccines have remained effective in preventing serious illness, hospitalizations, and death.
The recent Omicron appearance further emphasizes the importance of vaccination and boosters.
What do you think of the measurements of Wake up America to prevent more infections?
