Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Officially “Gone Gold”

Tokyo, Japan – August 30, 2025 – Square Enix announced today that Dragon Quest I‌ &​ II HD-2D Remake has reached “Gone Gold” status, signifying the game is finalized and ready‌ for manufacturing and⁣ digital distribution. The⁣ milestone ‍was celebrated ⁤with a ⁤photo featuring Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii and producer ‌Masaaki Hayasaka.

“Gone Gold” assures fans the October 30th release date for PlayStation 5, Xbox‍ Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam remains on track.​ Pre-orders have been available ⁤since ‍last year. ⁣The remake reimagines the classic⁣ Famicom titles‍ with modern⁣ HD-2D graphics, inspired​ by Octopath ​Traveler, utilizing a 16-bit aesthetic rather of the original games’ 8-bit visuals.

Dragon Quest I ‌& II HD-2D⁣ Remake presents the ‌combined adventures of the original Dragon Quest and its sequel.
