The famous game streamer Herschel Beahm, best known as Dr. Disrespect, was banned without warning from the Twitch platform earlier this summer. Perhaps not entirely unexpectedly, he has now made an ever so small comeback.
Beahm recently completed his first streaming session on YouTube, where he already has a channel with 2.3 million followers.
On Saturday he posted a video where he officially announced his YouTube comeback, and in the same video he also talks about the Twitch curse, for which he has not yet received a justification.
Declare his innocence
– We have not done anything that justifies a ban and the way they went about banning us. No communication in advance, no attempt to make contact – nothing. Boom, done, Beahm says in the video.
According to the streamer, there are many followers who expect an answer to what has happened, and due to the lack of communication, there has been a lot of speculation.
Beahm says in the video that a “big contract” and “a lot of money” are at stake, and suggests that legal action has been taken in the case. Exactly what this entails, and whether there is a formal lawsuit, is uncertain.
Dr. Disrespect is best known for streaming battle royale games such as H1Z1, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Apex Legends, as well as Call of Duty games. He had just over 4 million followers on Twitch before the account was removed, and has previously held records for the most number of simultaneous viewers on the platform.
The whole concept behind the Dr. Disrespect character is to point the nose at, but at the same time benefit from, aspects of toxic game culture.
