DPA and Huawei form solar pact in Africa

Distributed Power Africa (DPA), an Econet Global company, and Huawei Technologies have decided to join forces. Their goal is the transformation of African communities through smart batteries and solar energy. To do this, the two partners will deploy the Huawei Smart Energy Fusion product, initially in Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa and Kenya.

Huawei Smart Energy Fusion is for use in hybrid solar solutions. It is designed with modular and scalable chain battery technology from 5kW to 30kW on each cell. Enough to offer customers a flexible investment. They can install it with or without solar panels and connect it to the grid or to a generator to provide optimal power. It guarantees up to 30% more energy, stable power supply and financial savings for end users. With this product, DPA will be able to increase electrical capacity for customers wishing to scale.

“We are always looking to work with innovative partners like Huawei to offer intelligent systems and to offer the energy solutions best suited to meet the energy needs of our markets”, said Norman Moyo, CEO of DPA. He stressed that renewable energy technologies like that of the Chinese giant represent a step towards building fully functional communities off-grid.
