The police deployed around twenty agents to keep the two groups apart to prevent a new collision.
“The first goal is to restore peace,” said a police spokesperson. A number of people have been instructed to leave, after which the peace returned, according to the police, who further said they hoped “for a pleasant carnival party.” No arrests were made.
On Saturday a fight had broken out in dozens of people in nearby Oudewater, involving dozens of people. Three people were arrested.
