Downton Abbey Stars Gather for London Premiere as Final props Go to Auction
LONDON – Teh cast of Downton Abbey walked the red carpet at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square on September 3, 2025, for the premiere of Downton abbey: The Grand Finale. The event marked the culmination of the beloved series, as fans prepare to bid farewell to the Crawley family and their staff. Together, a collection of iconic props and costumes from the show are being auctioned by london’s Bonhams, offering devotees a chance to own a piece of Downton Abbey history.
the final film centers on Lady Mary as she navigates a public scandal while the family contends with financial difficulties impacting the entire household. As the series draws to a close, fans are eagerly collecting mementos, and the auction provides a unique prospect to acquire treasured items from the show’s six seasons and two feature films.
Among the items available in the online sale, which began last week and continues through mid-September, are Lady mary’s wedding dress and tiara, a telegram announcing the outbreak of World War I in 1914, and the servants’ bell wall. Other props up for bid include butler Mr. Carson‘s pewter hip flask and silver pocket watch, and aprons belonging to cook Mrs.Patmore.
Stars in attendance at the premiere included Penelope Wilton, Sophie McShera, Joanne Froggatt, Joely Richardson, Laura carmichael, and Michelle Dockery.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale opens in Irish cinemas on Friday, September 12.
