Dortmund defeated Seville for the second time and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League

The footballers of Seville with the goalkeeper Tomáš Vaclík lost in the eighth finals of the Champions League with Dortmund. The favored Juventus Turin was not enough for Porto and at the same stage finished for the second time in a row.

The Spanish reigning European League winners drew 2: 2 at the Borussia Stadium and did not make up for the initial 2: 3 defeat, the Czech national team goalkeeper remained on the bench. Although Juventus defeated Porto 3: 2 after extra time in a captivating home revenge, the Portuguese team celebrates with a home victory of 2: 1 and a larger number of goals on the opponent’s field.

Vaclík caught the previous two competitive matches, but the Seville number one Bunú returned to the goal after recovery. The Andalusian team started more actively and in the third minute Ocampos’s shot was pulled out by the home goalkeeper Hitz, then the side net was tricked by Suso.

Dortmund took advantage of the first major chance in the 35th minute. At the end of the quick action, Reus found a free Haaland and the best scorer of the current year LM easily managed.

The Norwegian forward’s next goal at the start of the second half was not awarded due to his offensive foul on Fernando. However, Judge Cakir, in collaboration with a video referee, returned to the previous situation where Haaland was illegally stopped by Koundé at the age of 16 and whistled a penalty.

Haaland hit it with a stick, but that wasn’t the end of the drama. Cakir was allowed to take it quickly by the referee, much to the dismay of the goalkeeper who wasn’t prepared. On the second attempt, the twenty-year-old shooter Dortmund did not hesitate and repeated two hits from Seville.

Haaland improved to 10 goals in the Champions League in the Champions League, scoring a total of 20 goals in 14 matches in the elite competition. He also became the best Norwegian scorer in the history of LM after former forward and current Manchester United coach Ol Gunnar Solskjaer.

The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 69 minutes, En-Nesjrí broke through the center and found himself alone with the keeper. In the sixth minute, the Moroccan striker leveled his head after Rakitič’s center, but Sevilla did not manage to do more. Dortmund advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2016/17.

Juventus started with a lot of pressure and in the third minute he could open the score of Morat, but his head did not beat the goalkeeper Marchesín. On the other hand, after a while, Taremi headed into the junction of the crossbar and the pole.

Porto took the lead in the 19th minute. Demiral fouled Taremi and converted Oliveira’s penalty. Morata refused the answer in the first half and only hit the goalkeeper of the guests up close.

However, the Italian champions started the second act well and in the 49th minute Chiesa equalized after the knock of the hitherto insignificant Ronald. Shortly afterwards, Taremi was expelled from Porto after two yellow cards in quick succession.

Juventus had a fantastic opportunity to put Chiesa up another goal 63 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. The 23-year-old winger has already established itself in Porto. Despite the overwhelming dominance in normal playing time, the home team did not add another goal, Morat’s intervention in the setting did not apply due to the offside and Cuadrado headed for the crossbar.

The Turin team also had an advantage in both parts of overtime over a weakened opponent, but in the 115th minute Oliveira hit again, this time from a direct kick. Rabiot quickly returned the “Old Lady” lead, but the home team did not manage the coveted promotion goal. Porto is among the top eight LM after two years.
