Dortmund. A bomb find in Dortmund affects hundreds of residents and several commuters on Thursday!

At Bonifatiusstraße in Dortmund a British bomb from WWII has been found. The dud, weighing 250 kilograms, still needs to be defused on Thursday. You have to know that:

1200 people are affected by the evacuation that precedes the defusing. At 10:15 p.m. the city finally gave the all-clear. The dud was successfully defused. All blocks have been removed.

At around 9:30 p.m., the city announced that it had now started defusing it.



Shortly before the defusing began, a local resident refused to leave his apartment. Only with the support of the Dortmund police was it possible to persuade the person to leave the apartment. The defusing can begin immediately.

At shortly before 9 p.m. the B1 was blocked between Märkische Straße and B54. Railway traffic is temporarily ended in the area.

As the city announced on Twitter, the evacuation could begin on time at 5.45 p.m. Around 8:00 p.m. in the evening, the city reported that around 50 percent of the area had been evacuated.

There are also several patient transports.

The evacuation radius is 300 meters long. “The Landgrave Primary School will be set up as an evacuation point for the affected population. A shuttle bus takes people from the evacuation area to the evacuation site, ”writes the city.

When the actual defusing begins, the U41 and U47 light rail lines only run from Brambauer / Brechte or “Westerfilde” to “Stadthaus” and from “Clarenberg” or “Aplerbeck” to “Märkische Straße”. Lines U45 and U49 will be temporarily closed. (Jg)
