Doris J. Paul, age 87, of Berlin, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 29, 2025, at meadow View Nursing Center. Born on February 18, 1938, in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, to Ada Lichty, Doris dedicated her life to her family, her work as a seamstress, and her church. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Carl “Ed” Paul, her two children, Jeanne (Russ) Hillegas and Jeff (Tricia) Paul, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris J. Paul graduated from berlin brothersvalley High School in 1956. She worked as a seamstress at various sewing factories in the county before her retirement. She was a dedicated member of mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. She was also a member of trinity Chapter #138 Order of the Eastern Star.

Doris enjoyed bowling, reading, puzzles, attending her grandsons’ ball games, and spending time with her grand doggies, Dash and Remi.

Funeral Arrangements

family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Deaner Funeral Home in Berlin. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Glenn Foster officiating.Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church,c/o Dawn Nider 6297 Cumberland Hwy., Meyersdale, PA 15552.
