Dorce Gamalama’s efforts to get medical assistance from President Jokowi and Megawati paid off.
When present at podcast Denny Sumargo, Dorce revealed that he received financial assistance from Jokowi and Megawati.
Dorce also revealed the nominal of the funds given by these two important people in Indonesia.
“Megawati gave Rp150 (million) and Jokowi gave Rp200 (million), Alhamdulillah,” explained Dorce.
He then emphasized that the aid was not the result of begging, but only asking for help from the closest people.
“It’s just that I’m not the one begging, ‘Sir, give me money, sir’, it’s not like that, just because I was given it, I accepted it,” he continued.
But, Dorce admitted that the money was not enough to pay for his treatment.
That’s because Dorce wants to be able to fully recover without having to use a wheelchair.
“It’s not enough, I can’t walk yet, I want to walk. I don’t want to be in a wheelchair, I want to be able to walk again,” Dorce added.
Instead of buying an advanced wheelchair, Dorce I want to have surgery so I can walk again. And the cost for the operation is not small.
“I can buy a wheelchair that is tens of millions of dollars, but what for? I want to be able to walk, come back (healthy), but I leave everything to God, if God really gives me pain, it’s okay,” added the woman. 58 this year.
