Don’t underestimate, these 5 mild symptoms of Covid are still contagious

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is on the rise. The Ministry of Health said 90 percent of the new Covid cases in Indonesia were the BA.5 subvariance.

The Omicron BA.5 subvariant had a more rapid transmission than the original BA.1 and Delta strains. However, many people ignore it because of its mild symptoms.

In fact, the potential for individuals with mild symptoms to spread infection is exactly the same as the potential for patients with severe symptoms.

The following are mild symptoms of Covid-19 that are at risk of transmission:

1. Runny nose

A runny nose or stuffy nose is one of many different symptoms. Make sure, every time you clean your nose, dispose of it properly and away from places where there is less chance of transmission.

2. Sore throat

A sore throat or throat infection occurs when the virus settles in the throat area. Even though it looks like you are not spreading the infection but actually you are shedding a lot of viruses.

Itchy throat or sore throat are typical symptoms observed during the third wave of COVID led by Omicron.

3. Fever

Many people think that a fever may not be a serious problem, but it can be a big risk to the people who live around you. Even with a mild high temperature, you may be fine with your daily activities, but in the process you may expel the virus from your body and other people may inhale it.

4. Sneezing

Sneezes contain airborne droplets that carry the corona virus. Because air droplets are forcibly expelled when sneezing, they spread to the environment far and wide immediately and hence there is a possibility that they can be inhaled by many people at the same time.

5. Cough

The occasional cough you experience may not bother you, but the airborne droplets may be lethal to others. Therefore, social distancing has always been one of the most important anti-COVID protocols.

The COVID cough is usually dry and accompanied by shortness of breath. Be sure to wear a face mask or cover your face with a cloth or elbow when coughing.
