Muscat: The Royal Police of Oman has advised the public to refrain from spreading speculation via social media. The Royal Oman Police made this clear by dismissing messages circulated through social media that a people-smuggling gang is operating in Oman.

Police said the propaganda about gangs of people targeting is totally baseless. Police stressed that no such complaints have been reported by any governorate of Oman and the propaganda to the contrary is false.
Officials have warned that baseless news and messages should not be spread and such fake news will only serve to spread fear in society.
