Don’t Overdo it, these 4 foods are bad for the heart

JAKARTA, iNews.id – The heart is the most important organ for humans. Therefore, heart health needs to be maintained from a young age from a daily lifestyle, one of them diet.

Because, certain foods can have a bad impact on your heart health. For example, foods that contain excessive sugar and sodium. This can lead to an increase in blood pressure which leads to the risk of heart disease.

In addition, a study has shown that eating foods high in saturated fat can increase LDL or bad cholesterol, thus putting you at risk for heart disease.

The following are types of foods that can have a negative impact on your heart health, as reported by Eat This Not That, Tuesday (29/09/2020).

1. French fries

Obesity and belly fat have long been linked to cardiovascular disease. The more fat that is stored in your midsection, the higher your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels. So, consider cutting back or avoiding fatty foods like french fries.

Because, fries are not only a simple source of carbohydrates that can increase your blood sugar, but also contain fat and salt.

2. Cheese

Although it can be a fun dessert or topping, cheese contains saturated fats which can put your cardiovascular health in danger. So, be wise when you want to eat foods with mozzarella and cheddar to lose belly fat and maintain heart health.

3. Pizza

Who doesn’t love pizza? This one food can be a delicious companion for relaxing or watching movies at home. But on the other hand, pizza has many toppings, including cheese, which is of course bad for your heart health.

4. Potato chips

It’s no secret that potato chips are no friend to a healthy diet. This is because this food is high in calories, fat and sodium, which was discussed earlier, which can increase the risk of heart disease.

Try a low sodium diet for a healthy heart. This is because eating more than 2,300 milligrams, or the equivalent of one teaspoon of salt a day, can cause high blood pressure, which is a serious risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
