Donald Trump, Bok | Trump boasted of secret weapons:

In the middle of an interview, Donald Trump started bragging about something he should never have talked about.

It was in an interview with grave journalist Bob Woodward, in connection with his new book, that Trump made the following statement:

– I have built a nuclear weapon system that no one in this country has had before. We have cases that you have neither seen nor heard of. We have issues that Putin and Xi have never heard of before. There is no one… what we have is incredible, says Trump in one of the interviews that Woodward reproduces in his new book “Rage”.

Near a war

The statement came as Trump talked about how close the United States was to ending up in a war with North Korea in 2017.

Excerpts from the book, which will be published on 15 September, were reproduced on Wednesday Washington Post and off CNN.

In the book, Woodward writes that anonymous sources later told him that the US military has a secret weapon system, but they could not reveal details about it. Some sources expressed surprise that Trump had revealed it.

– Deadly stuff

Trump also has several statements in the book that will attract attention. The President of the United States is said to have deliberately toned down the coronavirus. According to Woodward, Trump told him he knew the coronavirus was life-threatening and far more dangerous than a common flu.

– You just breathe in air and that’s how it is transferred. So it’s a very difficult one. It’s a very tricky one. It is also more deadly than a severe flu, Trump said in an interview with Woodward on February 7.

He then adds that “these are deadly things”.

In public, however, he chose to give a completely different presentation. Among the allegations was that the coronavirus was nothing worse than a common flu, that it would soon disappear and that the authorities had it under full control.

Recognized dimming

A few weeks later, he admitted to Woodward that he was trying to portray the virus as less dangerous than it was.

– I always wanted to tone it down. I still like to tone it down, because I do not want to panic, he said in an interview on March 19.

White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said on Wednesday that Trump’s only motive was to make people feel safe.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde has nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. It has not gone unnoticed:

For praise for rice

Trump insisted for a long time that he would not wear a face mask. The first time he wore a face mask in public was in July.

During the first phase of the outbreak, he also praised China’s handling, before accusing China of allowing the virus to spread to the rest of the world.

The United States is the country in the world hardest hit by the corona pandemic. The number of corona-related deaths is soon expected to exceed 200,000.

Trump has repeatedly stated that his handling of the outbreak has been a success, among other things by pointing out that he decided early on to ban the entry of people who came from China and from hard-hit countries in Europe.

However, opinion polls show that two out of three Americans are dissatisfied with Trump’s handling.
