Dominican cyclist killed by hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – Authorities are searching for the driver responsible for fatally running over a Dominican father in Brooklyn, New York City Police announced.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on Friday, around 10:10 pm, when police officers found the victim unconscious at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Essex Street.

The man, identified as José Ramos, 56, has just left his house and was walking with his bicycle and with his wife on the way home. It was at that moment, when she was crossing the pedestrian crossing, that the tragedy occurred, and her partner witnessed the incident and how the person responsible left her husband on the street.

Ramos, who also leaves behind a 6-year-old daughter and eleven siblings, was declared dead at the hospital Interfaith Medical Center after ending up with severe head and body trauma.

According to the authorities’ investigation, the driver of a light-colored or white sedan car ran over him.

The victim’s family asks for justice.
