Domestic violence increased significantly in Brandenburg last year due to the corona pandemic. According to information from the German Press Agency, the number of cases recorded grew by almost a fifth from 4,371 in 2019 to 5,235. The majority of the victims were therefore female. Most of the cases were simple bodily harm, with the largest increase recorded.
