After some time, Kujawa voluntarily gave two of the dogs into the hands of the animal welfare authorities. When a vet took a closer look at the four-legged friends, the full extent of the abuse came to light.
About 61 shotgun pellets and 19 lead pellets were found in one dog’s legs, torso and head. 71 shotgun pellets and 22 lead balls were found on the second dog. Airguns are often classified as sporting weapons. They are not usually fatal but can cause significant pain.

During interrogation, the woman confessed to her crime. The reason she gave was that she shot the dogs when they tried to dig under the fence to get out of the garden. The four-legged friends probably couldn’t stand it any longer with their owner.
