Duane “dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman’s grandson, Anthony, has died.
Gregory Chapman, Anthony’s father and Duane’s son, has deactivated his social media accounts following the news. Duane and his wife Francie, his sixth wife, are focusing on their grief. The family released a statement expressing their sadness over the “incomprehensible tragic accident” and asking for continued prayers for their beloved grandson, Anthony.
DailyMail.com has reached out to a representative for Duane Chapman for comment but has not yet received a response.
Last year, Anthony spent the summer with his grandparents. During a visit to the emergency room in 2023 when his “Meemaw” Francie injured her ankle, Anthony recounted an experience he described as feeling the “wind of the Holy Spirit.” He and Duane were in the waiting room when they felt a sudden cold wind, despite the warm, rainy weather outside. Anthony described feeling the wind hit him in the chest and then from behind, even though the door remained closed. He questioned the source of the wind, and when he asked Francie, she confirmed it was the Holy Spirit. Francie, after undergoing X-rays for her ankle, reported that the pain had subsided and it was not broken.
Zecca – who is francie’s son from a previous marriage – as reported.
Beyond his faith, Little Anthony also enjoyed dancing to Usher’s music and visiting comic book stores, where he posed with characters. The Chapmans, who began dating in 2020, found common ground in their shared experiences of loss. Duane’s fifth wife, Beth Smith, passed away from throat cancer in 2019, and Francie lost her husband, Bob Fran, in 2018.
Francie previously shared in an ET interview in 2020 that they understood each other’s pain and helped each other through difficult times. She described their ability to cry and talk about their feelings together, walking each other through their grief, wich she said bonded them in an “amazing way.”
the couple is set to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary on September 2.
