Dodge Unveils 170th and Final Production of 1040 hp Challenger SRT Demon, Accompanied by a Photo

The US car company Dodge has announced the last of seven special models that were created so that customers would not be so sad to part with the era of muscle cars with internal combustion engines.

The next Challenger and Charger will be electric, but before that happens, the manufacturer is launching seven special models: the Challenger Shakedown, Charger Super Bee, King Daytona, Swinger, Black Ghost and now the Demon 170.

The first six are already here, but the last one was delayed because Dodge had problems with the durability of the more than 1,000 hp engine. Now this has been remedied and enthusiasts of the brand can rejoice in the seventh special called Challenger SRT Demon 170.

Such a muscle car is equipped with a 6.2-liter Hemi-V8, which has been completely redesigned and combined with a three-liter supercharger. If the driver uses E85 fuel, the power of the unit reaches 1040 hp, and the maximum torque – 1281 Nm. 96 km/h for the Demon in 1.66 seconds, but it overcomes the popular US quarter mile in 8.91 seconds. The top speed of the coupe is only 243 km/h, but in this case it is sacrificed in favor of acceleration figures.

The manufacturer expects the Challenger SRT Demon 170 to be able to participate in NHRA drag races, so the list of options includes both a safety frame and a brake parachute, as well as special Mickey Thompson ET Street R tires with a size of 315/50R17 for the rear axle.

The manufacturer promises that a total of 3,300 Challenger SRT Demon 170 units will be released, which will sell for $96,666 each.
