Filmmakers illuminate in the documentary Robin’s Wish The Last Days of Robin Williams, writes Rolling Stone.

The film also examines Lewy body dementia (LBD), the condition that Williams struggled with without even knowing it. People with LBD can have symptoms similar to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, but they usually deteriorate more quickly.

“This incredible story sheds new light on the tragedy, beauty and power behind the mind of one of the greatest entertainers of all time,” said the filmmakers. Williams took his own life in 2014.

“In the last year of his life, Robin faced anxiety, paranoia and insomnia, and was on a rollercoaster of hope and despondency,” said his widow Susan Schneider. “With the help of the medical team, we tried to address all the symptoms, but it was of little use. It was only after the autopsy that the source of his suffering became apparent. His case was one of the worst LBD cases the medics had ever seen. “
