Some drugs prescribed to the oppositionist have no proven effectiveness or contradict Russian guidelines, doctors said.

The treating doctors of the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny published the results of his examinations in the colony, informs New Newspaper.

An independent group of doctors, having studied the results of the examination, could not fully explain why Navalny was experiencing pain, burning and numbness in the limbs and in the lower back.

Doctors suggest a neurological pathology, for the detection of which additional examinations are required.

It is also noted that it was not possible to relieve the pain syndrome. Doctors point out that many of the drugs prescribed to Navalny have no proven effectiveness. And in some cases, these appointments even contradict the Russian leadership.

Taking into account the above, as well as the fact that Navalny may need an operative neurosurgical intervention, and there are risks to his life, doctors are asking “as soon as possible” to transfer him to a multidisciplinary hospital in Moscow.

Recall that on March 31, Navalny went on a hunger strike in the colony, demanding medical assistance and the admission of civilian doctors. On April 18, he was transferred to a prison hospital, where he was twice visited by civilian doctors from state hospitals.

On April 22, Navalny’s doctors published an appeal in which they urged him to urgently end the hunger strike. 23 april Navalny ended his hunger strike.

Many Russian and foreign public figures, politicians, cultural workers and scientists have demanded to provide Navalny with the medical assistance he needs. Thousands of people protested.
