Doctors: 3,500 doctors resigned from “Health” during 2019 due to administrative abuse

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Amin, the Doctors Syndicate Fund, emphasized that the administrative abuse in the Ministry of Health is an ongoing and ongoing matter, and the Minya incident revealed it strongly, so doctors always receive sudden administrative orders such as assignment to any other governorate and the doctor is informed one day before traveling without observing the health conditions Or the social and the justification is the “need to work”, and if the doctor refuses to implement it is subject to all kinds of abuse such as penalty or transfer to remote provinces and sometimes it reaches the separation.

He added, in a statement, that the resignations of doctors are constantly increasing during 2019, 3500 doctors submitted his resignation from the Ministry of Health compared to the number in 2018 was 2600 doctors.

On the other hand, Abdel-Hamid said: “There is no financial compensation for transfer or assignment, and the doctor gets the same salary without any increase, but he also bears the costs of his transfer at his personal expense. This is what happened with the Menia doctors, where they rented a special microbus at their expense to transfer them to the training place in Cairo”.

Abdel Hamid stressed the importance of training doctors, but without decentralizing the training, explaining that the men’s doctors were obligated to travel to Cairo to train on “breast exams” and this training could have been obtained at the University of Minya or the Minya Oncology Center without the need to travel to Cairo.

On improving the health system in Egypt, Abdel Hamid explained that it is necessary first to improve the working environment for doctors, for example doctors ’housing, which is considered unhealthy, although the Ministry of Health previously announced in 2018 a prize of 100,000 pounds to develop and improve the housing of doctors and nursing, but even Now there is no result for that competition, and we all remember the victim of poor housing conditions Dr. Sarah Abu Bakr, may God have mercy on her, who died in the doctors ’residence due to the electric shock..

He continued: Likewise the expenses of graduate studies, which confirmed that there is a law issued in 2014 stipulating that the employer should bear the costs of graduate studies, but it has not yet been implemented despite the fact that the Minister of Health when appointed to her position in June 2018 issued decisions to activate this law, but so far the doctor is Who bear the expenses of graduate studies, not the employer.

He explained that Law 14 of 2014 had slightly increased the salaries of doctors, but these increases now and after 6 years have passed, “there is nothing equal”, so the salaries of doctors must be improved, and the increase in the low infection allowance is only “19 pounds”, which is very important, especially since there are many deaths of doctors due to Infections such as doctors, Ahmed Abdel-Latif and Dalia Mahrez, for example.

On behalf of the painful Minya victims, Dr. Abdel Hamid asked: How will the female doctors and their families be compensated for what happened ?! There is a doctor who lost her fetus and her uterus was removed due to the accident and there is another dangerous operation going on in the back and she may not be able to move after that, let alone the three martyrs, one of whom was newly married (the martyr Samah) and learned to carry her in her first child days before the accident.

Dr. Abdel Hamid admired the position of the Minister of Health, who was late in visiting the injured female doctors and did not visit them until late, and it was said that the cause is her illness and that she is in one of the “non-governmental” hospitals, and he asked, “Wasn’t it the first time that the Minister of Health treated the same hospital in which doctors treated Minya had confidence in the Ministry’s hospitals.
