Doctor Nenny Tubagus urges to avoid dengue by applying 5M

TRIBUNMANADO.CO.ID, MANADO – Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever ( DBD) is one of the most common diseases in the rainy season.

For this reason, the Head of Medical Services and Medical Support at Manado City Hospital, Dr Nenny Angreany Tubagus Remind people to check conditions at home.

“Check vulnerable places such as dispensers, buckets, bathtubs, if there are larvae, clean them immediately,” said Dr. Nenny in the Female Tribune Program: Healthy in the Rainy Season, Thursday (20/1/2022).

For this reason, the government is currently launching the 5M program, namely Draining, Closing, Burying, Replacing, and Sowing.

Sowing is meant to sow abate powder into places that are difficult to clean with a ratio of one gram to 10 liters.

In addition, Dr. Nenny asked parents to pay more attention to their children.

“Don’t let the fever go on for a long time, on the 4th day the fever has gone down, he thinks it’s okay. DBD That’s the critical period on the 4th to 6th day,” continued Dr Nenny.

The decrease in fever can actually be a sign of danger, so parents should check the tips of their children’s fingers and toes whether they are cold or not.

As an anticipation, people need to provide fever-reducing drugs at home as a first step.

“One of the features DBD the heat may go down but not return to normal. So if you are given fever-reducing medicine, the fever remains or increases, the next day you can be taken to a health facility,” said Dr Nenny.

If you have already been attacked DBD, Dr. Nenny suggested to give all nutritious foods, especially fluids.

This is due to leakage of blood plasma which can cause blood to thicken.
