Do not underestimate menstrual pain, the risk can interfere with fertility

JAKARTA, iNews.id – For women who are teenagers, they will experience a cycle menstruation. The cycles vary, ranging from three to seven days with each cycle ranging from 21 to 35 days. A woman’s menstrual cycle is affected by hormonal changes involving estrogen and progesterone.

An imbalance of one or both of these hormones can lead to irregular menstruation. The causes also vary, it can be due to fatigue, stress, obesity or too thin, breastfeeding, excessive diet, to inappropriate use of birth control pills.

A specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, Aripin Syarifudin, said that one of the causes of menstrual disorders is uterine myoma, which is a benign tumor found on the uterine wall.

“Even though it is benign, tumors on the uterine wall can grow large to make sufferers experience pain and disturbances during menstruation,” said Dr. Aripin Syarifudin Sp.OG, through his virtual statement, Monday (29/3/2021).

He explained that myoma is a tumor cell that is benign in nature. Health problems it has other names uterine fibroid, myoma, and leiomyoma. Myomas arise from abnormal growth of cells in the smooth muscle of the uterus.

“Myomas occur without causing symptoms, so further examination through ultrasound examination is needed to detect the presence or absence of these myomas,” said Dr. Aripin.
