Do not have a bank account, can you still accept salary subsidies?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan or BP Jamsostek Agus Susanto emphasized that workers who do not have an active account number will not receive assistance salary subsidies from the government.

This is in accordance with the criteria that refer to the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 14 of 2020, concerning Guidelines for Providing Government Assistance in the Form of Wage Subsidies for Workers / Laborers in Handling the Impact of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).

“In accordance with the Permenaker criteria, the recipients of Wage Subsidy Assistance are Indonesian citizens (WNI), registered as BPJamsostek participants, and have an active bank account,” he said in a virtual press conference, Friday (21/8/2020).

“Therefore, if you do not have an account number it means that it does not meet the criteria. And we cannot pay it,” he continued.

Help subsidized salary of IDR 600,000 per month for 4 months will be transferred to the bank account of each beneficiary worker.

Agus said, if a BP Jamsostek participant does not have an account number, they can immediately open an account at the bank so they can join the salary subsidy program.

“Therefore, we ask HRD to facilitate or establish bank accounts for their workers,” he said.

BP Jamsostek also said that it facilitates the opening of account numbers for prospective workers who receive salary subsidies by involving state-owned banks (Himbara).
