The serial killer Michel Fourniret has kidnapped, raped and killed Estelle Mouzin in a deserted family home in the Ardennes, according to the last confessions of his ex-wife, reviving the hope, 17 years later, of finding the body of the girl.
“Monique Olivier told the examining magistrate (…) that Michel Fourniret had kidnapped Estelle Mouzin, kidnapped her, had taken her on January 9, 2003 to Ville-sur-Lumes to kidnap her and that he ‘had raped and strangled,’ said his lawyer Me Richard Delgenes on Friday during a press briefing at the Paris court.
These new statements from Monique Olivier, 71, interviewed since Tuesday in the office of Judge Sabine Khéris, are now worth her to be indicted for “complicity” in this investigation, one of the most emblematic unsolved criminal cases , announced the lawyer.
“There are still investigations to be carried out to find out where Estelle Mouzin’s body is (…) but she could not give any indication in this regard,” added Me Delgenes.
The testimony of the ex-wife of “the ogre of the Ardennes”, already sentenced to life in 2008 as an accomplice, goes in the direction of the intuitions of the investigators, however upset by the failure of recent extraordinary excavations.
DNA found
The partial DNA of Estelle Mouzin was found in two places on a mattress seized in 2003 in the house of the late sister of Michel Fourniret, in Ville-sur-Lume (Ardennes) where the serial killer is suspected of the have kidnapped, said his ex-wife’s lawyer on Friday.
The revelation of this material evidence, although often disputed because DNA traces can be transported, adds to the confessions in recent days of Monique Olivier, Fourniret’s ex-wife.
