DNA and travel movement links suspect to liquidation in the presence of child | NOW

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) suspects that the suspect Jonathan C. is one of the shooters of the liquidation of Rachid Kotar in Amstelveen at the end of 2019, according to a first introductory hearing in the case on Thursday. An orange glove was found with the victim’s blood and DNA from C.

This glove was found in the vicinity of a burnt-out Volkswagen Transporter that was probably used as a getaway car after the liquidation on December 19 last year.

There are footage of the liquidation showing one of the gunmen wearing orange gloves. These images also show that, according to Justice C., the weapon refuses and that the man therefore hits the victim on the head after being shot by the other person who is still on the run.

According to the OM, the beating is the statement that blood from the victim was found on the glove.

At the Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station, not far from where the burning bus was, people checked in with the public transport chip card of the friend of C. The time of check-in corresponds to the time that it was reported that a van was on fire .

Co-suspect would be seen on camera images

The 26-year-old suspect himself is silent. Thursday was the first introductory hearing in the case. Co-suspect Saifeddine M. was not present. He too could be seen on camera images where he possibly places a beacon under the car of the victim, so that Kotar could be followed.

The telephone that is linked to M. also radiates in the parking lot of the Health City gym in Amstelveen, where Kotar was shot.

The victim was liquidated when he left his four-year-old son in the car. The child saw everything happening from the back seat, but was physically unharmed.

Man convicted of plan hijacking helicopter

M. is said to have applauded to his sister: “If you know that you are hot, then you are not going out with your child?”. The same M. was appealed in March of this year convicted up to a year in prison for his part in preparing for a helicopter hijack and wanting to free criminal Benaouf A. from the prison in Alphen aan den Rijn in October 2017.

This failed due to early intervention by the police. Precisely because the attempt was not completed, the court acquitted M. in first instance and he was only sentenced to one month in prison for possession of a patron holder.

The case continues on February 19.
