The Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against the bar associations for insulting the religious values ​​adopted by a section of the public under the Article 216/3 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK), due to the baron’s announcement yesterday, under the heading “Press Statement on the Head of Religious Affairs, Ali Erbaş on Hate Speech”. .

In paragraph 3 of Article 216 of the TCK, there is a provision that “the person who publicly degrades religious values ​​adopted by a part of the public is punished with imprisonment from six months to a year if the act is suitable for disrupting public peace”.
