Britain’s Supreme Court has awarded £ 251.5 million to Princess Haya Bint al-Hussein in a divorce case against Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, who rules Dubai.
Separately, their children, a 14-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy, are guaranteed 290 million, or 5.9 million a year. Thus, the total amount of the divorce became 541.5 million pounds.
This is the largest amount awarded for divorce in British history.
The 47-year-old princess fled Dubai in 2019 and said she feared for her life. She was the sixth, youngest wife of the sheikh. She decided to move out after revealing that he had returned two of his daughters to Dubai against their will.
Sheikh Maktoum accused his wife of cheating on him with one of her bodyguards.
