The combination of rain and excessive speed also got a 33-year-old into trouble, who was driving on Friday morning in heavy rain on the right lane of the A8 in the direction of Stuttgart. Since he had not adjusted his speed to the prevailing conditions, he lost at the level of the motorway junction Ulm/ Elchingen took control of his vehicle, the car crashed into the guardrail and came to a stop in the left lane. The totally damaged car had to be towed away. The total damage amounts to around 18,000 euros, reports the police.

The shut-off and towing measures caused by the accident created a backlog, which an 18-year-old novice driver recognized too late due to the heavy rain, so that she drove her car onto the car of a 52-year-old. While the person who caused the accident was uninjured after the first on-site inspection by the rescue service, the 52-year-old and her 61-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Both vehicles were badly damaged, were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed away. The property damage from this rear-end collision amounts to around 10,000 euros.
