Challenges and …

María del P. Loroño Maldonado

This learning on the internet has in many cases become issues of politics, religion, family decisions, educational and more that divides opinions and generates great passions in one way and another, or that has led the media to express opinions that can affect emotional stability, health, social, family, economic and work security.

In order for everyone to feel comfortable, each reader must choose the position that best reflects their attitude towards studying in this modality, especially the different educational levels that have been forced to change due to the phenomenon of social seclusion that the coronavirus afflicts. 19 and its strains and that they are affecting their health, including their lives.

In this writing as a teacher in commitment I present to illustrate to families some characteristics of this type of distance education, open, online and in virtual spaces, to give us an idea as a society, world, country, state, of its evolution to generate a safe, productive and enjoyable learning experience in times of pandemic.

The terms of open and distance learning, online, virtual refer to educational modalities that aim to regulate access to education and training, freeing male and female students from limitations of time, space, use of various technological resources focusing on a greater flexibility for the opportunities of a critical strategic thinking capable of promoting the autonomy of the subjects. That is, place them as active, reflective subjects and prepare them for the understanding of complex situations and to understand an individual and group learning flow.

For students, open virtual online distance learning constitutes an increase in flexibility in accessing education and conducting extracurricular activities. It is a primarily student-centered approach, providing richer and better quality learning involving new ways to be prepared for interaction.

Virtuality requires us as teachers to locate ourselves in an emerging paradigm of knowledge and learning, to assume an epistemological position regarding the development of a creative critical strategic thinking capable of promoting the autonomy of the subjects; that is, to place them as active, reflective subjects, to prepare them to understand complex situations and to understand an inexhaustible flow of information. According to Morin 2000, in the information society we must understand partial learning, but it is necessary to be prepared to respond to multidisciplinary problems.

Paekinson (1997) expresses “people learn more when they have more reasonable opportunity and motivation to do so” following these guidelines I consider that to configure a teaching-learning model in these technological modalities to educate students should be offered opportunities and provided with motivations for the knowledge. An effort will be made to provide clear, practical, thoughtful information. Feedback must be effective and permanent, a strong intrinsic motivation tending to incorporate a range of activities to favor their understanding of the process itself in education in these online distance modalities in virtual spaces, with these reflections waiting to serve the family educational ended. Peace and good.
