Dispute over gas pump – Dresden city council injured

Dresden / Döbeln. The Dresden lawyer and free voter city councilor Frank Hannig was injured in a dispute at a gas station in the district of Central Saxony. The dispute over a petrol pump at a truck stop on the A 14 near Großweitzschen, Niederranschütz district, occurred on Wednesday at around 5:50 p.m., as a spokesman for the Chemnitz police department announced. Hannig had to be treated on an outpatient basis in a hospital. On Thursday afternoon, the 50-year-old appeared with a ruff and visible wounds in the Dresden city council.

According to the police, the Dresden lawyer is said to have been standing at a petrol pump with his car broken down with the hood open when a pick-up stopped next to the vehicle. The 51-year-old driver got out and talked to Hannig, who was still in his car, that he should open the pump.

Hannig denied this on the grounds that this was not possible for the time being due to a technical defect in his vehicle. Then the situation suddenly escalated, according to the police report. The pick-up driver suddenly hit the Dresden lawyer with his fist.

Police are investigating both men

In the subsequent tussle, Hannig fell to the ground and the 51-year-old German continued to step on him. Eventually Hannig was able to free himself and fled to the sales room of the gas station, where he alerted the police. The pick-up driver has meanwhile disappeared in an unknown direction.

Compared to the Dresden Latest News, who first reported the incident on Thursday afternoon, said Hannig, he was on the way to a client in Grimma when his car suddenly lost the radiator. Therefore, he drove off the motorway at the gas station.

Compared to the SZ, Hannig told the city council on Thursday evening that the attacker tore open his door and beat him straight away. “Then I ran away, when I got back I took a photo of him – that’s when things really started.”

The man knocked him to the ground and then kicked him. Hannig says he had to be stitched on his face, had a concussion and more. He then got up again and also struck. “I messed him up too.”

The police are investigating for “mutual assault crimes” against both men, as a spokesman said. The officials were able to secure video material from the gas station, which is now being evaluated.
