A woman died Monday evening after experiencing a medical emergency while riding the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland, authorities said.

Anaheim Fire‌ & Rescue responded to the park at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 for a report of an unresponsive woman ⁣in her 60s who had just disembarked the ride, according to Sgt. Matt Sutter, a spokesperson for‍ the Anaheim Police Department.

Disneyland security⁤ personnel initiated CPR until paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a local‌ hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, Sutter said. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s‌ Office will determine the official cause of death.

The incident was first reported by Matt Desmond, known⁤ as “Disney Scoop Guy” on social media, who shared the news on Twitter and Instagram. “Sending condolences to her family and loved ones,” ‌Desmond wrote.

This is not the first time a medical emergency has occurred at the theme⁤ park, though fatalities are rare. Disneyland employs extensive safety measures and has medical staff on-site to respond ‌to guest needs.
